Horticulture Courses
Certificate II Horticulture (Landscape)
The course is delivered in a manner that allows students to work and study at the same time, putting the theories they learn into practice in their workplace as they undergo training.
A Horticulture (Landscape) (Level 2) trainee, is involved in:
- Working as a Landscape Assistant
- Learning a wide range of skills to assist a Landscape Gardener to design and construct garden landscapes or renovate existing gardens
- Learning the gardening skills required to create a landscape that is pleasing to look at, functional and well balanced

Certificate II Horticulture (Parks and Gardens)
The course is delivered in a manner that allows students to work and study at the same time, putting the theories they learn into practice in their workplace as they undergo training.
A Horticulture (Parks and Gardens) (Level 2) trainee, is involved in:
- Working with a Gardener or as part of a gardening team
- Assisting with planting and caring for trees, lawns, shrubs and flower beds in areas such as the surrounds of public and private institutions, city squares, parks and gardens, playing fields, golf courses and bowling greens, as well as private homes
- All aspects of work, if you work with a Gardener in a small organisation
- More specialised work in larger organisations where several Gardeners are employed, such as looking after turf areas, trees or flower beds
- Maintenance duties

A Horticulture (Nursery) (Level 2) trainee, is involved in:
- Preparing potting mix, containers and seed beds
- Planting seeds, cuttings and bulbs
- Maintaining growing stock in good condition by watering, feeding, pruning and weeding
- Harvesting and pack plants
- Preparing plants for sale, staking and labeling them
- Weeding, cultivating and spraying plants to control pests and weeds
- Operating and maintaining reticulation systems
- Handling customer queries and deliver orders
