A Digital Learning Network for 21st century learning

SMYL Community Services has received funds from the Australian Government through the Teaching and Learning Capital Fund (VET) Investing in Community Education & Training program to build and operate a $1.3million Digital Learning Network.

The Digital Learning Network (DLN) will modernise SMYL’s facilities and create a state-wide digital network for teaching and learning:

  • A digital learning network will be created around a powerful new computer server;
  • existing facilities in Fremantle and a new building in Rockingham will be transformed into state-of-the-art, digital classrooms;
  • a mobile computer-based classroom connected to the SMYL digital learning network by satellite will deliver services to remote communities

SMYL has been providing support and services to marginalised and unemployed people for more than 25 years. We are a community based, non-profit company that works for transformational change within individuals and communities. SMYL seeks to provide services that address the basic community needs whilst building capacity, self reliance and alleviating helplessness for those in our communities most in need.

This refurbishment was funded by the Australian Government through the Teaching and Learning Capital Fund (VET) Investing in Community Education & Training.
