What is it?
The Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program provides basic Language, Literacy and numeracy training for eligible job seekers whose skills are below the level considered necessary to secure sustainable employment or pursue further education and training. It is designed to help remove a major barrier to employment and improve participants daily lives.
The Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program provides up to 400 hours of basic adult language, literacy and numeracy training, which is designed to lead to a measurable improvement in the language, literacy and numeracy competencies of participants.
The training is undertaken at between 6 and 20 hours per week over a period of 20 to 52 weeks.
Training is provided in small, friendly groups by experienced and fully qualified adult language, literacy and numeracy trainers. The training is tailored to meet the individual learning needs of each client.
Where are the courses run?
The program is run through our Fremantle and Gosnells offices.
Who is eligible?
For all streams of training job seekers must be (you will need to check with Centrelink to make sure you are eligible) of working age (generally 15 to 64 years of age); and registered with Centrelink as unemployed and looking for work (ie a job seeker) and not a full time student.

Certificate I in Gaining Access to Training and Employment (GATE)
Core Units: 220 hours. Select any combination of the elective units and/or imported units from any other Accredited Course or Training Package to a maximum of 120 hours.
